This article presents the results of the analysis of the strength, resistance to overturning and displacement,
and load-carrying capacity of the abutment walls of the approach lift of the automobile bridge. During the
research, mechanical methods and mathematical models were used to determine the stresses and
deformations in the retaining walls. According to the results of the calculations, the retaining walls of the
12.6 m high bridge approach have met the conditions specified in the regulatory documents for safe
transmission to the ground by accepting the pressure from the temporary loads and the soil massif. In
addition, the probabilities of overturning and sliding of retaining walls were evaluated. The conclusions
obtained because of this assessment will help to develop important recommendations for strengthening the
retaining wall structure of our research facility
