Abstract

This article examines the mechanics of interaction between reinforced concrete beams and rigid stays used in span structures of highway overpasses. Theoretical principles of combined work, differential deformation equations, matrix formulation, and numerical simulation are presented. Based on modeling of a three-span system (49.5 + 75.0 + 49.5 m), the effect of stay bending stiffness on the distribution of bending moments and deflections is analyzed. Engineering recommendations are proposed regarding stiffness optimization, anchorage configuration, and joint detailing. The findings contribute to enhancing the reliability and seismic resistance of bridge structures in high-load and earthquake-prone zones.
