Accurate estimation of the maximum charging and discharging power of battery modules is essential for ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency in modern energy storage and electric traction systems. This study presents a simulation-based approach to determining the dynamic power capability of a lithium-ion battery module using the Battery Power Estimator block introduced in MATLAB Simscape Battery Toolbox (R2025a). The module undergoes cyclic CC–CV charging and discharging processes, while the estimator predicts the maximum permissible power within a 10-second prediction window. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of this model in identifying real-time charge and discharge power limits, thereby providing valuable insights for battery management system (BMS) development and optimization.
