Abstract

This article analyzes the types, physical, mechanical and chemical properties of mineral fillers used in the production of expanded clay concrete. The effect of industrial waste-based and natural mineral additives included in the composition of expanded clay concrete on the strength, density, thermal conductivity and long-term service properties of concrete is studied. The role of microsilica, ash, slag, peroxynite sand, perlite, vermiculite and other mineral fillers in improving the structure of expanded clay concrete is also shown. The study highlights the significance of the granulometric composition, porosity, bulk density, and granular characteristics of mineral aggregates in determining the structure and quality parameters of expanded-clay concrete. It also analyzes the effective use of local mineral raw materials in lightweight concrete production, their technical and economic advantages, and opportunities for optimizing the concrete mix design. The research findings demonstrate that the required strength, density, and thermal insulation properties of expanded-clay concrete can be achieved through the proper selection of mineral aggregates. The obtained data can be utilized in the production of energy-efficient and high-performance construction materials.
